To receive my Honors B.S. in Economics from Penn State University in 2007, I researched and fleshed out a thesis titled “The Impact of the Fall of the Soviet Union on the Russian Oil Industry.” In it, I explored the constraints to the Soviet Union’s centralized economy (soft budget constraints, lack of incentives, and poor communication) as applied to the Soviet oil industry and post-Soviet Russia.
